Integrative Health & Social Welfare Service Delivery Systems and its Effectiveness: Model Development & Evaluation

Abstract
The study pursues different types of integrative health and social welfare service delivery systems and suggests the effective empirical model for the interdisciplinary case management system in Korea. As part of a continuous efforts to develop integrative service delivery systems (the previous study covered an effort to promote efficiency of service delivery system for low-income elderly or the handicapped by linking, coordinating, and integrating various health and human services providers.), It tried to operate 6 different pseudo-models for the case management system in Eun-Pyung Gu, Seoul. From the experience of its operation, author found various problems and issues that be considered to help operating effective integrative models. These include: 1) public agencies be the leader for integrating health and social welfare services: 2) social workers be placed as part of the visiting nurse team in order to promote integrative service delivery systems in the community: 3) efforts to facilitate cooperation among public agencies be promoted: 4) supplementary efforts to revise related laws be considered in order to secure normal functioning of the case management system: 5) introduction to the new system not be the extra burden on the practitioner: 6) social workers be placed not based on department, but on the job placement itself in order to promote integration of different human services.
